  01 / WHAT DOES MIRALUNE MEAN?  
mirage, from mira, means an illusion, in both of their cases it represents
"a hope or wish that seems like it 'can't' be achieved". jamil's wish to travel, be free
and have control over her life and mikołaj's wish to find his sense of self after being
the only one at NRC without a clear identity of purpose. mirage also comes from jamil's
secretive nature as well as mikołaj's timid and neutral demeanor at the start.
it also represents the he optical illusion found often in deserts when looking from a far;
both of them seeming one way until you get close.lune, meaning moon, is a small beacon of light that continues to shine even when
everything seems to be shrouded in darkness. it symbolises both Mikołaj and jamil
lighting up eachothers life, even if it isn't obvious to everyone else, or even themselves.
it's not as strong or direct as sunlight but it's steady and noticeable in a softer way, and
you can tell there's something there. it also ties into their time in Book 5, where during
the preparations for the SDC in Ramshackle, they would also have nightly talks when
they couldn't sleep. #insomnia.

♡ my yuusona is a depiction of me!! it is not an oc, its entirely a self insert, however I am rewriting canon with my own elements. I fluctuate between talking about my yuusona in 3rd person and 1st person.
